SIM Homeroom (1/ 2025)

Mahidol University’s Faculty of Science Hosts SIM Homeroom to Enhance Communication and Understanding for Students and Staff in International Undergraduate Programs

January 29, 2025 – The Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Nisamanee Charoenchon, Assistant Dean for International Education, along with esteemed faculty members including Asst. Prof. Dr. Tanan Warithanan, a Lecturer from the School of Materials Science and Innovation, Asst. Prof. Dr. Thatthaphong Tulyanon, a Lecturer from the School of Bioinnovation and Bio-Based Products Intelligence and Asst. Prof. Dr. Pongthorn Kanjanasirirat, a Lecturer from the Department of Pathobiology, successfully organized the SIM Homeroom for the Second Semester of the 2024 Academic Year. The activity took place at Room SC1-152, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.

This initiative aimed to proactively enhance communication and better understanding among undergraduate students, program directors, department heads, secretaries, and relevant staff to ensure higher service standards and reduce the processing time of student services. The event provided essential insights into the Faculty of Science’s announcements, international education management, academic calendar, student discipline regulations, and student request submission procedures.

In this event, Asst. Prof. Dr. Nisamanee Charoenchon provided a comprehensive overview of the request submission system and required documents, ensuring alignment between academic staff, program staff, and students.   She also conducted a demonstration on completing essential student request forms and the document submission process. Additionally, Mr. Sethavudh Kaewviset, a representative from the International Collaboration Division, presented vital information on visa regulations and procedures, including temporary stay extensions, 90-day reporting requirements, and re-entry permits for international students.

The event concluded with a highlight session by Asst. Prof. Dr. Pongthorn Kanjanasirirat, who actively discussed student discipline, reinforced the key policies that students must adhere to throughout their academic journey at Mahidol University.

SIM Freshman Orientation & Parents’ Meeting 2024

August 7, 2024 – Faculty of Science, Mahidol University organized the “SIM Freshman Orientation and Parents Meeting” for the academic year 2024 at Lecture Hall 2 (L2), Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, Salaya campus.

In the event, Associate Professor Prasit Suwannaert, Dean of Faculty of Science greeted and delivered a welcome speech to new students and parents. The new students are then fully briefed about important regulations and rules of Mahidol University, campus life, and university’s infrastructure facilities and resources by Associate Professor Wattana Weerachatyanukul, Deputy Dean for Educational Innovation and Salaya campus, following that, Assistant Professor Narin Nuttavut, a representative of the Faculty of Science Alumni Association (MUSC Alumni Association) gave a warm welcome to new students, and also shared information on the MUSC Alumni and how to stay engaged and reap benefits.

During the ice breaking activities, the students are also provided to help students familiarize and made new friends. Additionally, the students and parents have an opportunity to discuss about classes and study plans with their the International B.Sc. Program Director & Committee, and academic advisors in the academic session. (See more)
