Dear Students:

Welcome to the International B.Sc. Program at Faculty of Science, Mahidol University

First of all, I genuinely congratulate all the students for the achievement of your hard work and dedication and I would like to welcome all of you to the Faculty of Science, Mahidol University.  Your first year of university is a pivotal year in your educational journey since it marks an important turning point.  This year will be the most transformative, educational, and developmental year of your life especially in the pandemic situation. The faculty of Science aspires to attain and maintain excellence in scientific research and teaching, as well as to benefit the community through its findings. We embrace the culture of “diversity of excellence” with diversified backgrounds and research interests, interdisciplinary learning experience will be anticipated.

In the global pandemic situation, science is more important than ever. The discovery messenger RNA was only in 1960’s as the mysterious and unstable biomolecule storing the genetic information for cellular protein product. In 2020, the development of mRNA vaccine has been the fastest in the human history that will save millions of lives throughout the world.  With the current situation, for the upcoming academic year, online learning is still be in practice. I certainly hope that, with effective vaccination provided by the University, we will soon return to the campus to enjoy learning, exploring, and engaging together. In the last academic year, we have transformed our teaching and learning system toward a hybrid system by implementing up-to-date digital technology, the lecture halls with high-quality audio and visual systems as well as teaching laboratories for your future learning experience. We can’t wait to welcome you all back to campus in the very near future.
